Friends for Life

Friends for Life (FFL) is a no-kill, non-profit, volunteer organization established to help animals in need. At FFL, we rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals. With no outside funding or grants, FFL operates on donations and good-will alone.

Friends for Life would also like to give a big mahalo to all of our volunteers and supporters. Every little bit makes a huge difference in the lives of the rescues. Because of you, we are able to continue our mission!

Update on Cole from Emily

Aloha and Happy (early) Howl-o-ween everyone!

Just wanted to share some happy news with y'all: remember little Cole from Makaha on the Waianae Coast of Oahu? Well he is doing FABULOUSLY at Dag's House outside New Orleans. Kim and her crew have worked wonders with our man - he's been getting the best veterinary and rehab care (including acupuncture) and he is showing signs of life in his remaining back leg! Through the extensive efforts of Kim and her team, Kim reports that he is able to stand for short periods of time without his wheelchair! However, it is painful for him, so on Saturday (Halloween), Cole will be going in for surgery on his remaining rear knee and hip to see if they can fix it so he can walk on his own again! Now, they are going to do their best, but they can't know if the surgery will be successful or not because it is a very difficult injury he has, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep Cole in your prayers/thoughts/whatevas this weekend!

Now on top of all of his five-star rehab and veterinary care, Cole has been seriously making the rounds in New Orleans social circles as well! Here are some fun pictures from this month's Delgado Vet Expo - where Cole and a bunch of his Dag's House buddies took FIRST PLACE in the costume contest! The boys (Dag, Smokey, Dawson/Teo, Cole, and Wilbur) were dressed up as Saints football players, and the girls (Winnie and Pumpkin) were Saintsation cheerleaders - with coach Stacy leading the charge! Can I get a WHO DAT???

Hope everyone has a safe and fun (and for Cole, effective/productive/lucky) Halloween!

Love & Aloha,

Emily (&TJ)
